One of the brightest mezzo-sopranos on the current opera scene, Ning Liang has already been heard in many of the world's leading opera houses. After earning a master’s degree at the Juilliard School, Ms. Liang went on to become the first Chinese singer to perform principle roles at such international houses as the Metropolitan Opera (Octavian), La Scala (Idamante) and Vienna State Opera (the Composer: Ariadne auf Naxos). Ms. Liang is also first Chinese singer appeared at the Hamburg State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Staatsoper, Opera Marseilles, Royal Opera La Monnaie, Israeli Opera and many others.
A few weeks ago, the opera singer had her presbyopia corrected at the EuroEyes Clinic in Hamburg on the recommendation of friends. Ning Liang explains in her video interview how she acted on stage without glasses and why she thought she had new light bulbs at home.
