Which vision correction treatment is right for You?

For the correction of vision disorders, we offer a range of treatments within refractive surgery and make it possible for our patients to live a comfortable life. After a detailed and personal consultation, and intensive examination we will determine which procedure you are suitable for.

Important prerequisites for treatment are, for example, the stability of the refractive values and a sufficient thickness of the cornea. There should be no eye disease or pregnancy, the minimum age is 18 years.

Vision correction solutions for different ages

At EuroEyes, we understand that choosing to undergo refractive surgery is an important personal decision. Your age, eye condition, lifestyle, and visual needs are all key factors in the evaluation. Let us provide you with professional consultation and develop a personalized refractive surgery plan to help you regain clear vision.

Eye Surgery For Age 20-39

EuroEyes offers myopia correction solutions for individuals aged 20 to 39, including LASIK laser vision correction, SMILE® Pro smile correction, and ICL contact lens implantation. Patients in this age group typically have stable vision, making them suitable for long-term vision correction planning. Younger patients can get rid of the limitations of glasses and contact lenses, while those approaching forty can improve their visual experience before age-related vision changes become apparent.

Eye Surgery For Age 40+

EuroEyes offers a range of vision correction options for individuals aged 40 and over, including Presbyond LBV laser vision correction and intraocular lens replacement surgery. These options aim to help alleviate presbyopia caused by age-related vision changes or blurred vision due to cataracts, thereby impacting visual experience and quality of life. Laser vision correction and intraocular lens replacement surgery meet the diverse needs of different individuals.

Eye Surgery For Age 60+

EuroEyes offers a variety of intraocular lens (IOL) replacement surgery options for individuals aged 60 and older. For those aged 60 and older, IOL replacement surgery can significantly improve vision affected by cataracts and presbyopia. At this age, many patients experience a gradual decline in visual acuity, making daily activities more difficult. Our different treatment options help patients restore clear vision.

When is the best time to undergo vision correction surgery?

Many patients with vision problems want to know if there is an ideal time for surgery to achieve the best recovery results and long-term stable vision quality. There is no single standard answer to when is the best time to undergo refractive surgery. Whether it’s LASIK, SMILE Pro, or intraocular lens replacement surgery, age, lifestyle, visual needs, eye health, and overall health all affect the appropriate timing of the surgery. Therefore, a comprehensive pre-operative examination is essential.

At EuroEyes Hong Kong, we provide professional pre-operative assessments and guidance to help you determine the suitable time to undergo refractive surgery based on your personal lifestyle, ensuring you achieve clear vision and a good quality of life.

Introduction to the Services of EuroEyes Hong Kong

Our eye clinic Hong Kong provides a range of refractive and pathological treatments. By offering a variety of treatment options, EuroEyes Hong Kong ensures that when you visit our eye clinic in Causeway Bay Hong Kong, you are getting the procedure that is right for you

Refractive Laser Eye Surgery

Refractive laser eye surgery is the cornerstone of our eye center in Causeway Bay Hong Kong. We utilize the latest generation of laser technology to precisely reshape the cornea, correcting refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. Our goal is to reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

  • SMILE® Pro: This is currently one of the flagship service at our eye clinic. Standing for “Small Incision Lenticule Extraction,” SMILE Pro is a minimally invasive and flapless procedure, which maintains the structural stability of the cornea. We utilize the Zeiss VisuMax 800,which completes the laser portion of the surgery in roughly 10 seconds enhances patient comfort and reduces anxiety, making it a good choice for active individuals.
  • Femto-LASIK: While many are familiar with LASIK, our Hong Kong eye center  performs the Femto-LASIK procedure. Femto-LASIK is a classic, time-tested methodology upgraded for modern safety standards. Unlike traditional LASIK which used a mechanical blade, Femto-LASIK is entirely blade-free. We use a femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap with micron-level precision. It remains an option for specific prescriptions and offers a rapid “wow-effect” visual recovery, often within hours of surgery.
  • Presbyond® Laser Blended Vision: As we age, our eyes naturally lose the ability to focus up close. For patients over 40 experiencing this condition (presbyopia), EuroEyes Hong Kong eye clinic offers Presbyond® LBV. It customizes the laser treatment to increase the depth of field in each eye, creating a “blend zone” where vision is sharp. This allows you to see clearly at distance, intermediate, and near ranges without reliance on glasses.
Lens Exchange and Implantation

Not every patient is a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery. Individuals with extreme prescriptions, very high astigmatism, or thin corneas need a different approach. At EuroEyes Hong Kong eye clinic, each patient receives a personalized treatment plan tailored to their specific vision needs.

  • ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens): ICL is a good option for those with high myopia who have been told they cannot have laser eye surgery. At our Hong Kong eye clinic, one of the benefits of the ICL procedure is that it is additive and reversible; the natural lens is left untouched, and the corneal tissue is preserved. The lens is made of a biocompatible collagen copolymer that provides exceptional optical quality and UV protection.
  • RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange): For patients where the natural lens has lost its function or clarity, RLE is the preferred solution. In this procedure, we gently remove the eye’s natural lens and replace it with an artificial lens. This is often the procedure of choice for patients with high hyperopia or early-stage cataracts, providing a permanent, stable correction that prevents cataracts from ever forming in the future.
Cataract Treatment

Cataracts are a natural part of aging, but they do not have to limit your quality of life. At EuroEyes Hong Kong eye center, we view cataract surgery as a medical necessity and we provide you different lens choices to treat cataract. At our Causeway Bay eye clinic, we perform cataract surgery using Monofocal lenses, Trifocal lenses, EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) lenses or LAL(The Light Adjustable Lens) lenses.

German Engineering Meets Hong Kong Efficiency

At EuroEyes Hong Kong, we bring over 30 years of German medical experiences to the heart of Causeway Bay. EuroEyes Group, which was founded in Hamburg and has since become a global leader in ophthalmology. When you step into our Hong Kong eye center in Causeway Bay, you are stepping into a facility that adheres to the same strict quality control, hygiene protocols, and technological precision as our clinics in Berlin, Munich, or Copenhagen.

We understand that patients searching for an eye clinic in Hong Kong demand the better services. Unlike a general hospital, our specialized eye center focuses exclusively on vision correction. This specialization allows us to fine-tune every aspect of the patient experience, ensuring that from the moment you enter our Hong Kong eye clinic, you feel a sense of confidence and calm.

Technology and Facilities

When you choose an eye center, the technology used is just as important as the surgeon’s skill. EuroEyes Hong Kong brings the pinnacle of German engineering to our eye clinic in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

 Why the Laser Matters

In older generations of laser eye surgery, mechanical blades were used to cut corneal flaps. Today, at our Hong Kong eye clinic, blades are obsolete. We use femtosecond lasers. These lasers emit pulses of light at one quadrillionth of a second. This speed is critical. It allows the laser to create a separation in the corneal tissue without transferring heat or causing damage to surrounding cells.

For the patient visiting our eye center Hong Kong, this translates to:

Precision: The incision is created exactly where the computer programmed it, down to the micron.

Comfort: The suction pressure on the eye is significantly lower than older machines, meaning you feel almost nothing during the procedure at our eye clinic.

Speed: The laser portion of a SMILE® Pro surgery takes only about 10 seconds per eye.

Technology at our Hong Kong eye center isn’t limited to the operating room. Our pre-operative suite features the Zeiss IOL Master and Pentacam HR. These devices map 25,000 data points on your eye. They allow our eye clinic staff to see irregularities on the back of your cornea that standard eye exams miss. By investing in this level of diagnostic tech, we screen out candidates who are at risk, ensuring that every surgery performed at our eye center meets the safety standards.

A Licensed Day Procedure Centre in Hong Kong

EuroEyes is a fully licensed Day Procedure Centre (DP000335) regulated by the Department of Health. This designation places our Hong Kong eye center in a category of medical facilities that meet stringent safety, equipment, and staffing requirements. For patients, this means that when you choose our Hong Kong eye clinic, you are choosing a facility that is regularly inspected and held to the operational standards.

Why does the “Day Procedure Centre” status matter when choosing an eye center? In Hong Kong, the regulatory landscape for medical beauty and medical procedures can be complex. By achieving the formal license (DP000335) for our Hong Kong eye clinic, EuroEyes has voluntarily submitted to the standard level of scrutiny. This license governs everything from the floor plan of our Hong Kong eye center to the qualifications of the staff assisting the doctor. It ensures that emergency protocols are in place and that the electrical systems backing up the lasers are redundant. When you lie down under the laser at our Hong Kong eye clinic, you are in a facility that has been engineered for safety. This is the peace of mind that a eye center in Hong Kong should provide.

The Patient Experience at Our Hong Kong Eye Center

What does it feel like to be a patient at EuroEyes Hong Kong? It starts with a warm welcome. We have designed our eye clinic Hong Kong to feel more like a premium lounge than a sterile medical facility. The anxiety many people feel about eye surgery is often linked to the clinical environment. At our eye center, we use calming aesthetics and a supportive staff presence to lower your stress levels immediately.

During your consultation at our eye clinic, we use diagnostic tools to map your eye in 3D. We believe in education. Our staff at the eye center will show you these maps, explaining exactly what is happening with your vision. We never rush this process, we want you to understand why we recommend a specific procedure, whether it is SMILE® Pro, LASIK, or an IOL implant.

On the day of surgery, our Hong Kong eye center team is with you every step of the way. From the pre-op preparation to the post-op relaxation in our recovery suites, you are never left alone. This “hand-holding” approach is standard practice at our eye clinic. We believe that emotional comfort contributes to better physical recovery.

Serving the Greater Bay Area

EuroEyes Hong Kong is not just serving the local community in; our Hong Kong eye center is a hub for the Greater Bay Area, China. Patients travel from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Macau to seek the high regulatory standards and medical expertise found in Hong Kong. As an international eye clinic in Hong Kong, our staff is multilingual, fluent in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin, ensuring that no details are lost in translation.

For cross-border patients, choosing an Hong Kong eye clinic ensures access to devices and lenses that might not yet be widely available elsewhere. Furthermore, the strict medical licensing of our Hong Kong eye center provides an added layer of assurance regarding sterilization and surgical safety. We are proud to position our Hong Kong eye clinic as a medical tourism destination for vision correction in the Greater Bay Area.

The Importance of Post-Operative Care

Surgery is only half the journey. The healing process is critical to your final visual outcome. At our Hong Kong eye clinic, our post-operative care program is rigorous. We schedule multiple follow-up appointments at our Hong Kong eye center to monitor your healing, check your eye pressure, and ensure your vision is stabilizing as expected. This continuity of care is why so many patients refer their friends and family to our Hong Kong eye center. They know that at EuroEyes Hong Kong, the care doesn’t stop when the laser turns off.

Financing and Accessibility at Our Eye Center

We believe that clear vision is an investment in quality of life. However, we also understand that cost is a factor. Our Hong Kong eye clinic strives to be transparent with pricing. There are no hidden fees at our eye center. The price quoted includes the surgery, the medication, and the follow-up visits.

To make vision correction more accessible, our Hong Kong eye clinic accepts various payment methods and works with insurance partners where possible. We also participate in government initiatives like the Health Care Voucher scheme for eligible services. When you visit our eye center, our staff will walk you through the financial aspects clearly. We want the decision to improve your sight to be based on medical suitability, not financial confusion.

A Global Network, A Local Touch

Being part of the EuroEyes Group gives our Hong Kong eye center a unique advantage. We have access to a massive database of clinical outcomes from our clinics across Europe and China. This “big data” allows our Hong Kong eye clinic to refine our nomograms (the algorithms used to program the lasers) for even better accuracy.

Of course, we can also arrange follow-up consultations around the world according to your needs after the surgery, allowing our 53 eye centers located in Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands and China to provide you with services.

Yet, despite this global scale, we operate with a local touch. The team at our Hong Kong eye center understands the Hong Kong lifestyle. We know about the humidity, the air conditioning, the long working hours, and the intense screen time. We tailor our services at our Hong Kong eye clinic to fit these local realities. Whether it is recommending specific eye drops for “office eye syndrome” or adjusting a monovision target for a patient who plays Mahjong, our Hong Kong eye clinic adapts global expertise to local needs.

A minimum age of 18 years is required for laser eye treatment. Your refractive error should have been stable for approximately one year before treatment.

As a rule, the day after the procedure you can already see 80-90% of what you could see before with your visual aids and within 3 days you will have full visual acuity.

Presbyopia is treatable. Treatment options depend on age, lifestyle, and overall health. The treatment options include:

  • Presbyond LBV laser vision correction surgery
  • Intraocular lens replacement surgery, i.e Trifocal Lenses

Most patients will experience a significant reduction in their reliance on glasses after undergoing laser eye surgery or intraocular lens replacement surgery. However, due to factors such as age, pre-existing eye conditions, and individual differences in recovery, some patients may still need to wear reading glasses when reading small print or in low-light environments.

The question of how quickly cataracts progress cannot be answered in general terms. In some cases, it takes many years before the disease leads to blindness if left untreated, while in others it progresses rapidly within a few weeks. In the advanced stage, the following symptoms usually appear in varying degrees:

  • Vision deteriorates in near and/or distance vision
  • Vision becomes increasingly blurred
  • The vision of colors, contours and contrasts deteriorate
  • Glare sensitivity increases
  • Light-dark adaptation worsens
  • Double vision is perceived
  • Spatial vision (stereopsis) deteriorates

If cataracts begin to affect daily activities (such as driving, reading, or recognizing faces), cataract surgery should be considered.
