Which vision correction treatment is right for You?

For the correction of vision disorders, we offer a range of treatments within refractive surgery and make it possible for our patients to live a comfortable life. After a detailed and personal consultation, and intensive examination we will determine which procedure you are suitable for.

Important prerequisites for treatment are, for example, the stability of the refractive values and a sufficient thickness of the cornea. There should be no eye disease or pregnancy, the minimum age is 18 years.

Vision correction solutions for different ages

At EuroEyes, we understand that choosing to undergo refractive surgery is an important personal decision. Your age, eye condition, lifestyle, and visual needs are all key factors in the evaluation. Let us provide you with professional consultation and develop a personalized refractive surgery plan to help you regain clear vision.

Eye Surgery For Age 20-39

EuroEyes offers myopia correction solutions for individuals aged 20 to 39, including LASIK laser vision correction, SMILE® Pro smile correction, and ICL contact lens implantation. Patients in this age group typically have stable vision, making them suitable for long-term vision correction planning. Younger patients can get rid of the limitations of glasses and contact lenses, while those approaching forty can improve their visual experience before age-related vision changes become apparent.

Eye Surgery For Age 40+

EuroEyes offers a range of vision correction options for individuals aged 40 and over, including Presbyond LBV laser vision correction and intraocular lens replacement surgery. These options aim to help alleviate presbyopia caused by age-related vision changes or blurred vision due to cataracts, thereby impacting visual experience and quality of life. Laser vision correction and intraocular lens replacement surgery meet the diverse needs of different individuals.

Eye Surgery For Age 60+

EuroEyes offers a variety of intraocular lens (IOL) replacement surgery options for individuals aged 60 and older. For those aged 60 and older, IOL replacement surgery can significantly improve vision affected by cataracts and presbyopia. At this age, many patients experience a gradual decline in visual acuity, making daily activities more difficult. Our different treatment options help patients restore clear vision.

When is the best time to undergo vision correction surgery?

Many patients with vision problems want to know if there is an ideal time for surgery to achieve the best recovery results and long-term stable vision quality. There is no single standard answer to when is the best time to undergo refractive surgery. Whether it’s LASIK, SMILE Pro, or intraocular lens replacement surgery, age, lifestyle, visual needs, eye health, and overall health all affect the appropriate timing of the surgery. Therefore, a comprehensive pre-operative examination is essential.

At EuroEyes Hong Kong, we provide professional pre-operative assessments and guidance to help you determine the suitable time to undergo refractive surgery based on your personal lifestyle, ensuring you achieve clear vision and a good quality of life.

A minimum age of 18 years is required for laser eye treatment. Your refractive error should have been stable for approximately one year before treatment.

As a rule, the day after the procedure you can already see 80-90% of what you could see before with your visual aids and within 3 days you will have full visual acuity.

Presbyopia is treatable. Treatment options depend on age, lifestyle, and overall health. The treatment options include:

  • Presbyond LBV laser vision correction surgery
  • Intraocular lens replacement surgery, i.e Trifocal Lenses

Most patients will experience a significant reduction in their reliance on glasses after undergoing laser eye surgery or intraocular lens replacement surgery. However, due to factors such as age, pre-existing eye conditions, and individual differences in recovery, some patients may still need to wear reading glasses when reading small print or in low-light environments.

The question of how quickly cataracts progress cannot be answered in general terms. In some cases, it takes many years before the disease leads to blindness if left untreated, while in others it progresses rapidly within a few weeks. In the advanced stage, the following symptoms usually appear in varying degrees:

  • Vision deteriorates in near and/or distance vision
  • Vision becomes increasingly blurred
  • The vision of colors, contours and contrasts deteriorate
  • Glare sensitivity increases
  • Light-dark adaptation worsens
  • Double vision is perceived
  • Spatial vision (stereopsis) deteriorates

If cataracts begin to affect daily activities (such as driving, reading, or recognizing faces), cataract surgery should be considered.
